Are you one of the people that would love to volunteer within swimming, but do not have the time to commit on a regular basis? Then this would be the perfect opportunity for you. No prior knowledge of swimming is required and all training will be provided. Wigan borough desperately needs swimming officials for both team and open competitions, we are looking to have a bank of officials who would be able to volunteer when convenient within the Wigan Borough.

The first part of the journey in officiating is the time keepers course, this is an introduction into the world of swim officiating. Over the coming months we will be putting on a number of time keepers courses. These courses can be completed within an evening and are part theory, part practical. This is a vital role as it is now the minimum requirement of all swimming officials at low level competitions, without these officials the swimming clubs within the borough will struggle to hold meets and competitions.

The first course running in December is a great opportunity  for anyone looking to progress to Judge 1 which is first rung of the ladder to become a licensed official.
