Club Championships take place this Sunday 2nd July. We have already had a good number of swimmers enter which is fantastic but there is still time to try and beat last year’s record attendance!
To make sure no one is left disappointed I would like to remind you that entries need to be received today 28-06-23 as the entry system will not accept any more after today.
As a reminder we are aiming to make Sunday a fun but still competitive event with our younger swimmers learning about how a gala environment works.
All swimmers will receive a medal for taking part as well as the top 3 places in each event and age group earning extra medals. Swimmers will also have the chance to earn some cash if they break a club record or if they manage to qualify for and place in the top 3 of the very exciting Skins event.
All prizes and medals will be received as always at the club presentation evening. We have been working hard to finalise details on this event but for now I can tell you that it will take place on Friday 29th September at The Pavilion in Hindley. More details to follow on this shortly!
Also we have had a number of parents and coaches step forward for the adults race on Sunday but not as many as last year. If you fancy having a go at the 50m freestyle please let a coach know or email meets@wiganswimmingclub.org.uk
so we can put your name down. Again just a bit of fun before the professionals show us how it’s done.
Once entries close tonight we will have a better idea of how the day will run. Therefore we hope to give you a timeline of the day at some point tomorrow. We are aiming to start warmups around 12 noon just to give you a little idea and allow you to plan your day.
