Our one day gala The Summer Sizzler is back after the fantastic feedback we received last year. Sizzler will take place on Sunday 1st June 2025 at The Wigan Life Centre!
This year The Summer Sizzler returns on a slightly later weekend than last year due to changes to the North West Micro League and pool bookings.
The gala will once again include all 50m and 100m events including the 100IM and the 200m Freestyle.
Just like last year we want to make sure that the gala is competitive and a lot of fun is had as well.
Due to this we already have the following returning with new ideas being put in place:
- The Ice cream man returns after he proved to be VERY popular last year
- Mak Swimwear are with us again for any equipment or swimwear you may need
- Key Photography will also be back to capture those all important action shots
- The sweetie jar spot prizes make a return
- Lee is back on the mic and music to make sure the fun atmosphere is enjoyed by all
Swimmers will also be pleased to know that Wigan Life Centre has just received brand new starting blocks with footrests, something we know a lot of swimmers will be happy about!
We will once again be using an online entry system for this gala and we are happy to announce that entries are now OPEN for all swimmers who have been registered as “Club Compete” with the ASA by their club and who will be 9 years of age or over as of Midnight on the 1st June 2025.
We are please to say that once again we will be keeping the price of entries to £6 per event!!!
If you are a swimmer from another club other than Wigan it maybe a good idea to check with your coaches to see if your club is entering this gala.
We are happy to accept single entry swimmers but if you are thinking about doing this please drop us an email first at meets@wiganswimmingclub.org.uk to discuss this further.
Entries for this gala will CLOSE to all swimmers at Midnight on the 4th May 2025!!!!!
