The Wigan and Tyldesley Starter Meet takes place this weekend (21st and 22nd September 2024) at the Wigan Life Centre.

*All normal training is cancelled on Sunday 22nd Sept!*

Below I have put some points together that I hope will answer any remaining questions you have:

  1. Spectator tickets are charged at £5 per session or £8 for the whole day! Children are free of charge and there are no other concessions.
  2. The card machine can be hit and miss so we suggest bringing both card and cash.
  3. On Saturday only we will be joined by  Mak Swimwear the leading swim shop in the North West.
  4. Key Photography will be poolside all weekend  taking action shots. If you think you would be interested in buy some of these action shots please fill out the form attached below and return it to the Key Photography team in the North Gallery! Also if you do not wish for photos to be taken of your swimmer please let the Key Photography team and they will sort that as well.
  5. The pool operator has asked that NO camping chairs of any kind be brought into the building.
  6. As always please make sure NO mobile phones are out in the changing room area.
  7. PLEASE MAKE SURE NOT TO PUT BAGS AND CLOTHING ON CHAIRS IN THE SPECTATING AREA.

Wigan Swimming Club member’s as always we ask that you are wearing Wigan SC t shirt and Wigan SC hat when competing.

It is suggested that your swimmer also brings the following:

  • A couple of towels
  • Change of clothes if one gets too wet
  • Dinner and Snacks to keep the energy levels up
  • A couple of drinks as it is due to be a hot weekend
  • Lots of energy and fun!!!!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Remember its the first gala of the season its a chance to see how training is going and how you are progressing!

Finally make lots of noise, have lots of fun, cheer your team mates on, and join in the singing and dancing in the afternoon warmups!!!!
