At the weekend we welcomed back the Wigan & Tyldesley Starter Meet to the Life Centre. After not running for a number of years it was great to get the gala back and it didn’t disappoint.
Firstly just a big thank you to everyone that volunteered and helped out. Also a massive thank you and well done to our new officials who donned their whites for the first time.
As you will have heard us as committee say many times we as a club really do need as much help as possible with officiating, volunteering, and other roles including team managers so that we can attend more away galas and hopefully introduce some new home galas.
The gala itself saw many of our young and up and coming swimmers taking to the pool with a sprinkling of older swimmers who returned to Short Course racing after a tough couple of months with Regionals and National window racing taking place.
As always the swimmers were all in good spirit around poolside having lots of fun, sharing sweets, creating Tiktok’s and cheering on team mates.
Sunday pm warmup proved to be very popular with the swimmers enjoying what turned into a mini poolside party, with plenty of dancing and singing the atmosphere was brilliant and something we always aim to create!!!
As always all of our swimmers put 110% in to each race and used the skills they have been practising in training. Tanya was very happy with all our swimmers over the weekend and hopefully they were happy with themselves.
Throughout the weekend we saw many swimmers achieve new PB’s, take on new challenges and overcome nerves to produce many fantastic performances. Well done to all our swimmers!

In total the club achieved 41 Gold, 39 Silver, and 34 Bronze taking the medal total to a massive 114.
