It’s that time of year again.
What a busy year it has been, first off a big congratulations to all our teams who competed in the B&D, Micro League, Arena and Wigan Development Galas through out the year. Truly inspiring swimming in all leagues, with the Micro League doing really well earlier in the year and finishing on a high with the Arena. We finished 11th overall in division 1 of North West National Arena League which is absolutely amazing as most of the teams we were up against were squads, a full report will be on the website over the holiday period.
The amount of swimmers entering individual galas this year has been out standing, I have felt really proud while on the deck, with medals coming in left right and centre. Fixtures have began to settle into place for the leagues next year and also targeted individual open competitions, so look out for my usual list and mark the dates down in your diary’s. We are still short on team managers and competition sectaries and looking for parents to step forward asap. Full calendar available here, please check it regularly for updated.
We ran our first open meet in over 5 years, the Wigan Starter meet was incredibly well support and it was really good to see so many Wigan swimmers achieving very fast licensed times in their pool. We will be holding the meet again this year :), any parents wanting to get involved in any aspect please get in touch.
Time trials will be held on Sunday 2nd February all swimmers wishing to compete within the teams next year are asked to attend as they will be used as a selection trial for all the early competitions. See you all back at training on Sunday 5th January.Don’t forget the Wigan Swim Development gala also takes place on this day at Leigh. Good Luck to all swimmers in the Development Gala and those who are swimming at the Bolton and Manchester Gala at the Manchester Aquatics Centre, in January.
