The Lancashire County Champs came to an end on Sunday 9th Feb after two weekends of unbelievable racing action!!!
We would first like to congratulate everyone at Wigan BEST as they became Age Group Champions for the fourth consecutive year.
This was achieved by the squad’s 10-16 year olds earning more points than any other club, these points were earnt by finishing in the top 8 places in an event!
Many of our swimmers contributed to this points score which was fantastic to see.
We can not forget our 17 and overs who had some fantastic swims to see themselves qualify for the British Champs down in London in April and gain a top 3 finish as well.
As mentioned we had swimmers competing for the first time at Counites and swimmers returning for up to the fifth time.

Congratulations to all of you on the brilliant achievement of qualifying for Counties this year!!!
Over the two weekends there were many remarkable swims which produced a lot of personal best times and some of these lead to final appearances, Top 8 finishes, and medal wins.
Some of our swimmers who won medals will have also received extra red ribbon medals and these are to indicate that they either set one of the top 3 times overall in the 16 and under’s or the Top 3 times overall, which I am sure you will agree is an amazing achievement!

In total our swimmers amassed 101 top 8 finishes with 55 of those resulting in medals. In total the swimmers won 25 Gold, 17 Silver, and 13 Bronze medals which is a phenomenal achievement!
Once again a massive congratulations must go to all the coaches at Squad and at our club who have helped our swimmers to these fantastic results.
Thank you to all of our volunteers and officials who helped out over the two weekends and finally once again many congratulations to all of our swimmers who as always were amazing from start to finish.
