Burnley Bobcats will be holding the last chance County qualifier Gala on Friday 9th January to Sunday 11th January 2026 at Darwen Leisure Centre.
To take part in this gala a swimmer has to be 9 years old or over at Midnight on the 11th January 2026. Whatever age the swimmer is at Midnight on the 11th January 2026 is the age they will race as. The age groups for this gala are 9/10/11/12/13/14/ and 15 & over.
Please note for this gala swimmers must be 11 and Over to enter the 400m, 800m, 1500m Freestyle or 400m IM!!!
10 and Unders can enter all other events.
Below you will find attachments including the terms and conditions, the programme of events for this gala and the consideration times. Please read all of these VERY CAREFULLY.
When entering this gala please make sure to enter a time for each event. If the swimmer does not have an official time you can use time trial times or ask one of the coaches at training for a time. Please beware if this gala is over subscribed swimmers with estimated times or unofficial times will likely be rejected first.
Also when looking at the consideration times please beware that swimmers MUST BE FASTER THAN THE LOWER QUALIFYING TIME BUT SLOWER THAN THE UPPER QUALIFYING TIME to enter that race.
Entries for this gala are now OPEN and will close at Midday on Friday 23rd November 2025.The reason for this is that the gala organiser has made it a first come first served gala and by having the entries complete I will be able to send them across as soon as entries open. As this is an extremely popular gala and the last chance swimmers will have to hit County times we don’t want to risk swimmers missing out!
50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m events will cost £7.50 per event!
800m and 1500m events will cost £11 per entry!
