The next gala that is opening its entries and as a club we will be attending is Blackpool Lights.
It is always a great atmosphere and lots of fun for all the swimmers. This year it will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th November 2023 at the Palatine Leisure Centre in Blackpool.
To take part in this gala a swimmer has to be 9 years old or over at midnight on the 19th November 2023. Whatever age the swimmer is at midnight on the 19th November 2023 is the age they will race as. The age groups for this gala are 9/10/11/12/13 and 14/over.
Please note for this gala swimmers must be 10 and over to enter the 200m IM and 200m Fly, however 9 year olds can enter all other events.
Below you will find attachments including the terms and conditions, the programme for this gala and the consideration times. Please read all of these VERY CAREFULLY.
When entering this gala please make sure to enter a time for each event. If the swimmer does not have an official time you can use time trial times or ask one of the coaches at training for a time. Please beware if this gala is over subscribed swimmers with estimated times or unofficial times will likely be rejected first.
Also when looking at the consideration times please beware that swimmers MUST BE FASTER THAN THE LOWER QUALIFYING TIME BUT SLOWER THAN THE UPPER QUALIFYING TIME to enter that race.
Entries for this gala are now open and will close at midnight on Friday 13th October 2023. The reason for this is that the gala organiser has made it a first come first served gala and by having the entries complete I will be able to send them across as soon as entries open.
