The Burnley Bobcats Last Chance County gala takes place the Saturday 6th January and Sunday 7th January 2024 at Darwen Leisure Centre.

As is procedure at Darwen all of the clubs and swimmers will be situated within the sports hall at the Leisure Centre.

A tip for anyone who has not been to Darwen before the car park is not very big, so it may be worth getting there a little earlier than normal to grab a parking spot.

I have attached below the warmup times for each session over the weekend as well as the gala brief which has lots of useful information on it. PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO READ THESE!!!

Please take note of each warmup time and make sure swimmers are in the sports hall at least 15 minutes before the start of the warmup so they are ready to be taken down to the pool when its warmup time.

There are a lot of different warmup times so please make sure to check and double check you have the correct time!

As a reminder we suggest that swimmers bring a couple of towels with them, plenty food and lots of drinks to keep hydrated, footwear for when they are moving around the building, club t shirt and club swim hat (if worn).

Due to being in the sports hall we recommend some warm clothing for in-between races ( thick socks, oodies, hats etc) adequate footwear (sliders, crocs etc) for moving around the building and something comfy to sit on whilst in the sports hall (camping chairs, exercise mats etc)

After the success of Burnley’s last gala being streamed this gala will once again be lived streamed! More info about that is included in the gala brief, which is attached.

As always if you have any questions please email meets@wiganswimmingclub.org.uk

Finally we wish you all a Merry Christmas and we hope you have a great New Year!
