Burnley Bobcats will be holding the last chance County qualifier Gala on Friday 5th January to Sunday 7th January 2024 at Darwen Leisure Centre.
We will only be accepting entries from swimmers who already have a County time or are close to achieving one.
If you are unsure if this gala is suitable for your swimmer please ask a coach or email the address below. Entries will be checked and if we believe there are better options available to swimmers we will be in contact!
Please beware that we believe the Wigan Development Meet will take place on Sunday 7th January. This gala will be for swimmers who are at the start of their racing journey and have not achieved a County or Regional consideration time. More information will be posted about this as soon as we receive it.
We will not be attending the Friday session over in Darwen.
To take part in this gala a swimmer has to be 9 years old or over at Midnight on the 7th January 2024. Whatever age the swimmer is at Midnight on the 7th January 2024 is the age they will race as. The age groups for this gala are 9/10/11/12/13/14/ and 15 & over.
Please note for this gala swimmers must be 11 and over to enter the 400m IM and 400m Free.
10 and unders can enter all other events.
Below you will find attachments including the terms and conditions, the programme for this gala and the consideration times. Please read all of these VERY CAREFULLY.
When entering this gala please make sure to enter a time for each event. If the swimmer does not have an official time you can use time trial times or ask one of the coaches at training for a time. Please beware if this gala is over subscribed swimmers with estimated times or unofficial times will likely be rejected first.
Also when looking at the consideration times please beware that swimmers MUST BE FASTER THAN THE LOWER QUALIFYING TIME BUT SLOWER THAN THE UPPER QUALIFYING TIME to enter that race.
Entries for this gala are now open and will close at Midday on Monday 27th November 2023.The reason for this is that the gala organiser has made it a first come first served gala and by having the entries complete I will be able to send them across as soon as entries open. As this is an extremely popular gala and the last chance swimmers will have to hit County times we don’t want to risk swimmers missing out!
