I have had a number of parents asking about any galas in December.
So I have been looking around at galas that may be available to our swimmers in December.
The first point I need to make is that with the galas I mention below it is unlikely that we will have team coaches or managers there due to the time of year and the fact both Gala’s will clash with our splash session (more details to follow)
Also it is strongly suggested that these galas are only used for anyone trying to get a last minute County qualifying time.
Below you will find details about two gala’s taking place over the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December.
Satellites Last Chance Meet 2022
Satellites Swimming Club are holding their Last Chance County Qualifier Gala on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
The Gala has all strokes at 50m,100m and 200m available as well as 100 and 200IM and the 400m free and 400IM.
Satellites use an online entry system for their Galas and that is already open and accepting entries.
If you click HERE you will go to the Gala page. If you haven’t done so before you will need to create an account this literally takes one minute and then you will also need to add your swimmer/s details to your account. Once you have done this you will be able to enter the gala.

At the moment there is an early bird offer at this gala. If you entry before this Saturday 15th October events are priced at £6 per event after this date they go up to £7 per event.
The closing date for the gala is set at the 16th December or when the gala is full.
Also please be aware that session 2 may well be an evening session.
Bolton Christmas Countdown Gala
This is a one day gala on Sunday 18th December at the Jason Kenny Centre in Bolton.
This gala will have all 50m and 100m events in each stroke.
Below you will find three attachments that include the terms and conditions, the program of events and the time limits for each event. Please make sure to check the time limits as swimmers can not have swam faster than them.
At the moment there is an early bird offer at this gala. If entries are received before the 31st October then each event is £5 per event. After this date the price per event goes up to £6.50 each.
As stated above it is very unlikely that any team coaches or managers will be at this gala due to it clashing with our club fun splash sessions. It should also only be considered if a swimmer is very close to a county time and wants another shot at achieving it.
Taking all of this into consideration if any swimmer would like to go to this gala please email meets@wiganswimmingclub.org.uk and let me know. If we have enough interest I will set up an entry system.
