Congratulations to the Lancashire County Team on their success at the ASA Inter County Championships taking place at Ponds Forge. With Wigan’s very own Ellie Molyneux and Jennifer Green being part of the team this year. Once again the pressure was on the team going for 14 in a row!
After the first quarter things didn’t look too great being over 30 points behind and at times in 8th position. However with some great relay swims this brought us back on track by the half time break. The swimmers in true Lancashire Red Rose style accepted the challenge and with some great individual and relay swims the team eventually secured the win beating Yorkshire by 46 points.
Everyone is proud of the teams’ achievement. It is remarkable that the swimmers keep producing such great team performances. It is testament to the work our coaches are doing via their programmes throughout the county.
