As a club we are always looking for new experiences to help aid the development of all our swimmers.
Last year we identified this gala as having the potential to do just that!
Back in March this year 33 Wigan swimmers travelled over to Sheffield and had a fantastic weekend for many different reasons!
The swimmers enjoyed the fact that some of them stayed away for the weekend (families own preference), alot went out for tea with each other on the Saturday night, many loved just how big Ponds Forge is and we also came home with 17 medals which is an unbelievable effort against some very very strong clubs.
Due to all the above reasons and the fact that as a committee we believe that the chance to swim at Ponds Forge is a great opportunity for all of our swimmers we will be doing it all again in March 2024.
This gala is a one day gala taking place on Sunday 3rd March 2024. The races that can be entered at this gala are 50m and 100m in all four strokes.
Swimmers need to 9 years old or over on Sunday 3rd March to take part in the gala and it is open to all club swimmers.
This will take alot of organising and alot of help!
So before we start to make final plans we need to know that we have a decent number of swimmers who would like to take this opportunity.

If you know that your swimmer would want to attend this gala please don’t leave it until the 15th to let us know. The sooner we have a good idea on numbers the sooner we can start to finalise plans.
