Just a reminder that the Wigan Swimming Club sponsored swim will take the place of all of Sundays sessions. Could I ask that all swimmers attend to help with this great event, even if you’ve not had an opportunity for sponsors. Its a chance to support their team mates complete the Panama Canal Swim which is a 50 mile challenge, or 80,467.2 metres, which equates to 3,219 lengths of Wigan Pool!!!
The session will start from 12:30 onwards for a gentle warm up, but swimmers are asked to stay for the full event with the challenge officially starting at 1pm until 4pm (hopefully our 50 miles will have been completed by then!!!)
We will allocate lanes to each level of swimmer and they will complete relays until we hit the target. Also parent and supporters please come down and cheer everyone on, show your support.
There will also be an information desk set up, with a number of committee members around the venue for any questions you may have. They will be available to collect any completed sponsor forms and money at the Wigan Wasps desk which will be set up in front desk in reception.
Also there will be a great opportunity to sign up now for the The Rossall Swim Camp for 2020, with further options of methods of payment and information on the day.
