Wigan SC and Howe Bridges Aces would like to introduce the inaugural 3 day Winter Warmer Meet.
The Winter Warmer will take place at the Wigan Life Centre over the weekend of the 8th to 10th of January 2027.
The Meet will have a full programme of events on offer and it will give swimmers one last chance to grab a County time or improve times they already have.
Wigan and Howe Bridge have decided to mix things up a little with the schedule of events as we hope to allow all swimmers the opportunity to swim in their favoured events.
We have also aimed to keep the cost of events as low as we can and these are £7.50 per event up to 400m and £10 for the 800m and 1500m races.
As always with the gala’s at Wigan we will make sure there is some fun thrown in as well to try and keep the nerves away.
All events will have heat declared winners and the age groups will be 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16/over with the swimmers age as of 10th January 2027.
9 year olds WILL NOT be able to compete in the 400m Free or 400M IM as well as the 800 and 1500m Freestyle. All other events are available to enter.
10 and 11 year olds WILL NOT be able to compete in the 400m IM as well as the 800 and 1500m Freestyle. All other events are available to enter.
This Meet is ran on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis!!!!
We will be happy to accept individual entries. However please email meets@wiganswimmingclub.org.uk first so that we are sure that the swimmer will have the appropriate support on poolside.
Entries OPEN at 6pm on Monday 23rd November 2026 and will Close at 6pm on Monday 14th December 2026 or when the Meet becomes full, whichever is first.
We have also looked at how to keep the cost to a minimum for visiting clubs and have decided to keep our usual offer available on the poolside passes. The first 2 will be charged at £10 each with any extra passes free of charge. If your club provides officials for the Meet then all poolside passes will be free of charge.
