We would also like to make a nice donation to a very special Wigan Wasps swimmers in her continued  Rehabilitation.

Skyla Baybutt has been a member of Wigan swimming club since she was 8yrs old – Skyla worked her way up our groups quickly and was also a member of Wigan Best, Making Lancashire championships and Medalling in multiple events, Skyla was a true Powerhouse who always gave 110% in every swim. Now at 15yrs Skyla regularly attends on a Monday evening alongside Tanya and Abbie after sadly experiencing a life changing event –

Out of the blue on 1/08/2021 Skyla had a bleed on the brain .Skyla was blue lighted to Manchester Children’s Hospital which became her home for 8 months. The bleed caused a stroke which took away the whole of Skyla’s left side no feeling no movement. Skyla in the 8 months has had to learn to talk, eat, sit up, stand and is now able to walk with a stick. She now continues a lot of physio working on her walking and left arm even though she still has no feeling.

Skyla has come so far already she’s very determined so we are hoping as a club we can Donate a portion of the sponsorship money to Skyla .This will help towards her Rehabilitation and to help fund private physio. To help get Skyla were she deserves to be and continue to support her as a part of our wasp family.

Don’t delay this promises to be a great day full of fun.
