As a club we have had 33 swimmers enter the March Madness Gala over in Sheffield.
The City of Sheffield swim team have been kind enough to let us know early that our entries have all been accepted.
This is a great help as it now allows for everyone to start making plans.
Early indication is that the warmups will start around 7.55am although this is subject to change.
A number of parents have mentioned that they may stay over night in Sheffield to avoid a very early start.
If you are going to do that the post code for Ponds Forge is S1 2BP.
There are a number of hotels extremely close to the pool including an Ibis, Travelodge, and Premier Inn.
The prices for a Saturday night stay in Sheffield can be very expensive, so it would be worth your while to get things booked sooner rather than later.
As a club we do need to remind you that if for any reason the gala was to be cancelled or your child could not compete then you could not claim your money back on any losses from your hotel room.
If you are planning to travel over from Wigan to Ponds Forge on the day it will take between 1 1/2 to 2 hours dependent on traffic etc. There is parking in and around Ponds Forge.
We are sure that both parents and swimmers have many questions and we have decided to have a quick meeting before the gala to hopefully cover everything you need to know.
At the meeting there also maybe the chance to organise a little meet up on the Saturday evening in Sheffield for families staying over. This of course will be dependent on both the number of people staying over in Sheffield and of course if families are wanting to do so!
We will have the meeting closer to the time and will post the date shortly.
