Over the last couple of months Lee (Head Coach) and the rest of the coaching team have been searching what galas will be taking place during the 2nd half of 2026. We are now in a position to be able to give you a good idea of the galas we will be attending over the next 6 months.
It is important to point out that swimmers are NOT required to attend all galas and you can ask a coach which galas they believe will be best for your swimmer!!!!!!
Please bear in mind that this list could change and I ask that you keep checking this post as well as all of our social media platforms for any updates or changes.
Below you will find a list of internal and external galas that we are aiming to attend with a brief description of each gala.
Club Championships 2026
Sunday 5th July 2026
Wigan Life Centre
A fantastic fun day for all members of the club!!!! On the day there are opportunities to win medals, break club records and watch the legendary parents race. WE HOPE TO SEE AS MANY SWIMMERS COMPETING AS POSSIBLE!!!!!

Wigan Development Summer Gala 2026
Tuesday 14th July 2026
Hindley Pool
This gala is aimed at new and developing swimmers. To take part in this gala you have to be between the ages of 8 and 10 as of the 14th July 2026.
Swimmers CAN NOT enter this gala if they have achieved County or Regional times!

Wigan Life Centre
A great chance for our swimmers to prepare for the new season of galas and it is also a very important tool for our coaches as they get to see how our swimmers are progressing. We hope to see as many of our club members there as possible!!!

Wigan & Tyldesley Season Starter Meet 2026
Sunday 13th September 2026
Held at the Wigan Life Centre!
The first gala of the new racing season. A level 3 gala held at our home pool and is good for all swimmers who will be 9 and over on Sunday 13th September 2026.
The gala has changed its format for this year and is now a 1 day gala. On the day swimmers will be able to compete in the 50m and 100m races for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly as well as the 100m and 200m IM.
This gala provides an opportunity for all swimmers to get their new racing season off to a great start.

BCM Autumn Meet 2026
Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October 2026
Wigan Life Centre
A great gala held at our home pool where our swimmers can test their skills out against many great swimmers from within the North West region.
This gala includes all 50m, 100m, and 200m events.

Blackpool Lights or Wigan BEST Future STARS Level 2
Saturday + Sunday 21st and 22nd November 2026
Held at Palatine Leisure Centre, Blackpool or Wigan Life Centre
Once we receive more info on both of these gala’s a decision will be made on which gala the club will attend. There is a strong possibility we may take teams to both!
The Wigan gala will also be running on the Friday night.

Wigan SC and Howe Bridge ACES Winter Warmer 2027
Friday 8th to Sunday 10th January 2027
Wigan Life Centre
A brand new gala that will give all our swimmers the opportunity to get the New Year off to a great start and achieve last minute County consideration times at the same time.
This gala will have the full program of events available!
